• AFTA - The Andean Free Trade Agreement (AFTA or Andean-FTA) is being negotiated between the United States, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru (with hopes of including Bolivia at a later time). The talks were launched in May of 2004 with plans to be completed by February 2005-a very aggressive and short timeline. Building on momentum from recently completed Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA ) talks, AFTA will most likely be very similar.
