Project Voice Southeast program was established in the fall 2004 as part of the National Project Voice initiative of the American Friends Service Committee to help strengthen the voices of immigrant-led organizations and their allies in setting the national agenda for immigration policy and immigrants' rights. Since the launching of the program, we have engaged in presentations, community forums, workshops, letter-writing campaigns, peace vigils, rallies, and nonviolent marches with recent immigrant and non-immigrant communities who are strongly rooted in the search for unity and justice. We are grounded in the Quaker belief in the inherent worth of every person and faith in the power of love to overcome violence and injustice. Project Voice Southeast is based in Charlotte, North Carolina and covers the nine southeast states of AL, FL, GA, LA, MS, NC, SC, TN, and VA.
