Immigrant groups celebrate repeal of executive order and protest "Secure Communities" program

Immigrant groups and allies celebrated the action of the new RI Governor Chafee's rescinding of the former Governor's Executive Order on Immigration.  The groups had met many times with Gov. Chafee to help him understand the devastating impact of that order on the community.  At the signing ceremony Governor Chafee commented that "anyone who works hard and abides by our laws is welcome here".

End of Summer gathering for RI progressives

Join with like-minded folks from progressive groups from all over RI for networking, fun, food, and music (and wicked good political discussion).  Suggested donation $5.  It is a potluck, so bring food to share as well as instruments and you passion for a better world.
