Park University Peace Intern Reflects on Working For Peace

Matt Burton

Reflections from Park University AFSC Campus Peace Intern, Matthew Burton

April 2011

The Peace Education Club, or Peace Club as it is more commonly known, accomplished many things. Together as a unit of collective peace to themselves and the student body, the group succeeded to stay present in light of a not so peaceful culture. Bringing themselves and the Park University student body together in intellectually changeling way became the motto for the Peace Club.

Time of Growth and Transformation for KC Intern

Annie Frundle

Annie Frundle, Social Work Intern with KC AFSC 2010-2011

Dear AFSC:

I was met with open arms and open minds. It has been an honor to have been given the opportunity to be a part of your community.  I have always desired to be a change agent, and I have truly seen this here at AFSC. The dedication to the values and belief of social justice is very evident here; represented by passion and desire to bring light into dark situations.

AFSC Interns Make Waves in Kansas City

Annie Frundle and Matt Burton

Annie Frundle and Matt Burton, AFSC Interns

Annie Frundle and Matt Burton, AFSC Interns, made significant contributions to AFSC KC’s work for peace over the past year.

This week I have reflected on the work of two AFSC interns in Kansas City who have completed their work with us over the past school year. I have also wished them well in their next endeavor and know they will be doing good things! Annie Frundle, our social work intern from Avila University, and Matthew Burton, our Campus Peace Intern from Park University, have each significantly contributed to our work for peace.
