Marie's Story

Marie

Marie in her living room, 05/28/14

Marie was a migrant, like many, who were in search for a better life. She prayed to God that she would survive her journey to the US and that better opportunities were suspended in the horizon.

Internships and volunteer opportunities at AFIS

The American Friends Immigrant Services Program (AFIS), based in Miami, has a number of volunteer opportunities available for energetic individuals throughout the southeast who are passionate about immigration and human rights and who are interested either in assisting in the office or in organizing educational events and activities in their communities. Additionally, AFIS also needs community-minded individuals to serve as volunteers on a number of committees. If you are interested in volunteering, write to LPerez-Reynozo@afsc.org.
