Delegation to the US-Mexico Border
May 23-25, 2008
The AFSC Austin sponsored Austin Tan Cerca quarterly delegation. This trip will be to the city of Ciudad Acuña, Mexico.
These delegations, which consist of 12-14 people, take place four times a year. Delegates meet with Maquiladora workers, who share their stories about struggles with labor issues in "sweat shop" environments. They also learn about Mexican society, and are able to witness first-hand the living conditions of the workers there.
