Dominican Joe exists to make a difference in the world. We are an Austin-based coffeehouse committed to working with non-profit organizations in Austin and around the world while providing quality Dominican coffee products to our customers.
Dominican Joe's primary coffee is purchased from Makarios, an Austin-based non-profit organization doing educational development work in the Dominican Republic. Skipping the large corporate middle-man, Makarios works directly with farmers in the region and pays them higher wages and supports their communities in an effort to develop self-sustaining skills for the future.
KOOP is a community radio station owned and operated by its members. KOOP provides a diverse array of programming, emphasizing programs that deal with local issues and/or serve communities which are under-served by the mainstream media. KOOP broadcasts Monday through Friday from 9am-7pm, and weekends from 9am-10pm on the 91.7 FM dial.
