May Day 2009 - Austin from Morgan Wajda-Levie on Vimeo.

Video of the march by Morgan Wadja-Levie and Matt Gossage

The May 1st march for immigrant's rights was a success! This is one of several ways we call for a just and fair immigration policy which will provide paths to citizenship, address healthcare, housing, and labor issues, and treat immigrants with dignity and respect.

The AFSC Austin Area Program promotes Economic Justice, Immigrants’ Rights and Peace Building in a global economy.

Photodocumentary

Nicos Magon's photodocumentary is about the border wall, border militarization, immigrant detention, and a broken immigration system in the United States. But it also documents the free expression of ideas found in political art on the Mexican side of the wall. Working closely with the AFSC Austin office, he has presented the documentary as a part of many of our recent workshops and presentations about immigrant rights and migration.

See a slide-show version of the photodocumentary.
