Delegations to the U.S. - Mexico Border
Austin Tan Cerca de la Frontera ("Austin So Close to the Border") is a program of AFSC Austin Office. These quarterly delegations to the U.S.-Mexico border create a sense of community and solidarity across political boundaries. They also address issues of economic injustice.
The following slideshow shows various delegations that have taken place over the last 8 years of this program. You will see maquiladora workers in their homes, and members of the CFO (Comité Fronterizo de Obrer@s) or “Border Committee of Workers,” our partner organization there. You will also see the model factory that they have created which is called the Dignity and Justice Maquiladora.
