The Michigan Inclusive Justice Program (formerly, the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Issues Program)
American Friends Service Committee works internationally on a variety of peace and social justice issues. The Inclusive Justice Program of Michigan works to organize LGBTQ people of faith and people who are supporting and accepting of LGBTQ people.
Inclusive Justice recognizes there is that of the Divine, of Spirit, in all people. Inclusive Justice acknowledges that all of our actions and destinies are interdependent and aims to guarantee fundamental rights for every human being. Inclusive Justice values all people and regards no person as enemy. Instead, we oppose specific actions and abuses of power while speaking to and modeling the goodness and worth of every individual. By recognizing the root causes and intersections of oppression and violence in all of its forms we can choose to act and advocate for an inclusive and peaceful society in our roles as individuals, family and community members.

The Michigan Criminal Justice Program
The American Friends Service Committee's Michigan Criminal Justice Program advocates for over 1,500 Michigan prisoners and their families each year. We believe that through building an "advocacy network"--by training people throughout Michigan to be advocates for prisoner rights--we can encourage more dialogue between prisoners and the general public, as well as more effectively advocate for the rights of prisoners and for humane reform of the criminal justice system. We also seek to educate the general public about the real (as opposed to perceived) issues surrounding crime, incarceration, and public safety.
