Ask U.S. Ambassador to Protect Peace Communities of Colombia

AFSC has received reports of death threats and other actions against the Peace Communities of Colombia and their leaders.

In 2007, we nominated two of these communities for the Nobel Peace Prize because of their profound commitment to nonviolence in the face of the violence that has engulfed Colombia for decades. We are moved by their determination to build and protect a positive alternative to violence, insisting on their right to remain neutral in the conflict.

Join AFSC in appealing to U.S. Ambassador to Colombia P. Michael McKinley to exercise the considerable influence of the United States in Colombia to ensure immediate action to address these threats and guarantee the safety of the communities.
