AFSC Supports Israeli Counter-Recruiters


AFSC sent this letter to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in advance of her meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Bejamin Netanyahu May 18, 2009. The letter asks for consideration of the plight of Israeli counter-recruitment activists and draft counselors who have been detained. For more information about the situation, click here.

Calling all counter-recruitment groups - join AFSC at the NNOMY National Counter-Recruitment Conference July 17-19, 2009 in Chicago!

This conference of the National Network Opposing Militarization of Youth (NNOMY) will bring together a broad spectrum of people to share skills and form the relationships needed to build a permanent resistance to militarism. Youth, parents, educators, veterans, artists, members of social justice organizations and more will come together for practical training on counter recruitment, legislative challenges and public pressure to promote nonmilitary alternatives. AFSC is helping to plan and organize the conference and our Chicago office is graciously hosting it.
